01 Why do bathroom walls get soft and mushy?

Standard plasterboard acts exactly like a giant paper sponge. If steam from the shower or a tiny hidden pipe leak gets behind the wall, the board drinks the water up, swells, and completely falls apart into wet mush.

THE REMEDIAL FIX: We never use basic plasterboard in "Wet Zones." We strip away the ruined areas and install specialized water-resistant blue-boards that can never rot, warp, or mold when things get humid.

Fixing the surface paint will not stop a wet wall from collapsing. We strip the wet zone completely, check the framing underneath, and seal the new walls to match strict AS3740 Waterproofing Standards.

Buildings naturally move, shift, and breathe with the weather. When cheap joint tape or basic filler is used over a wall seam, it is too stiff to flex. As soon as the house settles, the joint snaps and forms an ugly zig-zag crack.

THE REMEDIAL FIX: We cut out the failed joints and apply heavy-duty fiberglass mesh or professional expansion joint lines. This lets your walls move safely without ever tearing the surface finish.

03 Is a sagging or bulging ceiling dangerous?

Yes, a sagging ceiling is a major safety hazard. Over time, heavy plaster loses its grip on the overhead timber frames. Gravity, humidity, or old framing movement slowly pull the sheets down, leaving a dangerous bulge that could drop without warning.

THE REMEDIAL FIX: We clear out old debris from inside the roof, pull the sagging sheets flat against the timber bones, and execute a full Ceiling Re-Strapping with industrial stud-bond glue and heavy-duty screws.
